Tune List
Voice of the Ancestral Shrew - This tune came about after an accident involving a log splitter and my left hand. Unable to play guitar for a few weeks, I wrote something that could be played on keyboard with one hand. The poem is a few years old but this arrangement came about in less that 2 days. So far, the feedback from people has been "what the . . ." and leads me to believe that I used too many big words.
The Song of SkyLore Engine - Life, death, the universe, and everything. I mean, why not? Alex Wiener wrote the book back in 1972 . So if my tune leaves you confused, buy the book at mountprospectpress@gmail.com and read it to each other in bed .
Kumbrabow - is a symphonic piece about the destruction of the big trees in West Virginia's Kumbrabow State Forest. Modern forest management at its most disgraceful. Seems like there will always be those who can't resist trading in the rare and beautiful and irreplaceable for a greasy buck. This song is a curse upon those who did this, and a blessing upon those who tried to stop them. A tree hugger's anthem.
Kimberly's Waltz - A jazzy little number. Derivitive, for sure, but fun. I think I might have been trying to channel Frank Zappa at the time.
Under Saurian Skies - Indubitably the most self-indulgent chunk of apocalyptic and excessively melodic paranoia I've ever written.
Fiddling Around - Just that.
